Insulation Freight Cost by State — Published, Not Hidden
Most wholesale insulation suppliers hide freight inside a bundled “delivered price” you cannot audit. Here is the actual LTL carrier rate to every one of the lower 48 states, published openly. Sort by state or by cost.
Rate Ranges Explained
Central, Southeast, Northeast, most Midwest. Direct LTL runs from Midwest mill origins.
California, Arizona, Wyoming. Longer distance from Midwest freight origins.
Florida, Upper Midwest, Northwest. Multi-day transit, occasional relay handling.
Maine, Michigan, New York. Furthest carrier routes with premium rate.

Rates are for a single-pallet LTL shipment (up to ~3,500 sq ft of standard-density fiberglass). Larger orders scale at $75 to $150 per additional pallet. Small orders under 500 sq ft may qualify for the small-order discount — see the calculator.
Save $345 with Texas Pickup
Texas buyers can pick up their order at one of three warehouses instead of paying LTL freight. Pickup is a flat $100 handling fee instead of the $445 base freight — a net savings of $345 per pallet.
Select Texas as your delivery state in the calculator, then choose your pickup city from the pickup toggle that appears. Freight line drops to $100 handling automatically.
Freight Cost FAQ
How much does it cost to ship insulation to my state?
Look up your state in the table above. Most states are in the $445 base tier. California and Arizona are $545. Florida, Idaho, Nevada, Wisconsin, and the Upper Midwest run $645. Maine, Michigan, and New York are $745. Wyoming is a mid-tier $595.
Why does Insulation Overstock publish freight when most suppliers do not?
Because bundling freight into a delivered price is how markup gets hidden. Every quote here breaks material, freight, and service fee as three independent lines. You cannot compare quotes without seeing freight separated, and you cannot verify our rate without seeing what LTL carriers actually charge. Publishing the rate is the transparency mechanism.
Does freight change with order size?
Single-pallet rates are what the table shows. Multi-pallet orders add roughly $75 to $150 per additional pallet. Small orders under 500 square feet may qualify for a small-order shipping discount of $150 to $200 off the base rate — see the calculator for the exact number on your order.
What about Alaska and Hawaii?
Container shipping via port. Rates vary by carrier and season, typically $1,200 to $2,400 per pallet-equivalent. Text 303-594-8373 with your order details and delivery zip to get a real container quote.
Are these residential-address freight rates or commercial-address?
Commercial-address rates. Residential delivery adds approximately $75 to $125 per shipment due to smaller-truck routing and liftgate requirements. If your delivery address is residential, mention it when placing your order — we quote the corrected freight up front, never as a surprise on the invoice.
What if my state is not in the table?
The table covers all 48 lower states. If your state is missing, text us with your delivery zip and we will confirm the rate directly with the LTL carrier before you commit to the order.

The calculator applies your state’s freight rate automatically. See material, freight, and the buyer-offered service fee range as three separate lines — the same transparency principle this whole page is built on.
